Thursday January 6th

Quite a night for sporting celebrations! We hear from Down Under that England have won the Ashes Series outright with another innings win against Australia! That makes it a 3-1 win for England and no doubt there will be glorious celebrations into the night for the Barmy Army, whilst the Aussies are left with bruised egos and an inquest into where did it all go wrong? I have never really been a cricket fan but I have kept up to date with Ashes Series. 

Following a very relaxing week, today was a bit more energetic and the walking shoes were used in earnest again for the first time this year.

Wednesday January 5th

Spent the afternoon sipping coffee and enjoying a lovely slice of chocolate torte in Debenhams. Unfortunately the person who joined me for coffee was allergic to raw eggs and the chocolate mousse had a rather nasty effect! Fortunately no need to attend A & E this time! There was a distinct chill in the air and I see from various sources and weather reports that snow hit a few places again. 

This evening I enjoyed a lovely meal consisting of stuffed beef olives and garlic potatoes and mushrooms with a red onion and wine sauce and a side salad. Followed with coconut yoghurt and biscuit. 

The movement on Facebook, for action against the family law system and the corruption within it and the agencies working for it continues to grow. There is a list mounting up of people who are willing to attend a demonstration and bring this to the attention of Downing Street. If students and anti war protesters can march through London and highlight their causes with their own style of demonstrations (some less desirable than others!) then how much more can we parents do with similar (more peaceful) marches! It will give me something to work over the next few weeks. 

This evening there was an almost full Premier League fixture list. Arsenal could only manage a 0-0 draw with title challengers Manchester City, the highlight of the match coming a few minutes from the end with the sending off of Arsenal's Bacary Sagna and Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta. The score means that Manchester United remain at the top of the table. The shock score of the night came with Wolves beating the troubled Chelsea 1-0 which must now severely dent their chances of winning the league. 

Tuesday January 4th

So today was a monumental one in the astrological calendar. There was an eclipse of some description. Unfortunately just like the last total eclipse that took place which was visible just about everywhere other than Plymouth due to the weather on the day, the one today was also ruined by the weather and I only know of it taking place because a few of my friends on Facebook have written about it. I am sure that where it was visible it made a spectacular sight! The photo above was taken from the BBC website as it was the closest I got to seeing any of it personally!

Whilst out this afternoon I got caught in a heavy hailstorm. 

This evening Argyle were away to Bristol Rovers and managed to score late on to secure a 2-3 win which lifts them up to 12th place and only a win away from the Play-Off spots which a few weeks ago looked like Mission Impossible. However, off the field they have had to part company with yet another player to help raise the much needed cash to pay off the debts in a race to secure a future. The first half ended with Rovers going in 2-0 ahead but soon after the restart Wright-Phillips started the fight back. Mason scored mid way through the second half to level the scores before Zubar headed in what proved to be the winner in the 81st minute.

Monday January 3rd

After yesterday's fun evening today was a kind of anti-climax! Not much happened today other than laughing at events from last night and wondering what on earth could top them!

Sunday January 2nd

I could write a whole story about the events of tonight but I would have to start a whole new blog for that one. I have done some whacky things in my time and ended up doing some strange things. However sitting in an A&E Department at 2.00am looking at dried blood on the seat next to me just does not rate among the top 10 things to do! I actually think the events of the evening could make for a script for THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

Saturday January 1st

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I was amazed last night at the amount of sky lanterns that I saw flying overhead and in the distance. Seems to be the in thing now. It was a fantastic and moving sight! There were even a few more earlier this evening. I walked around Tesco earlier and got my Lottery ticket in the hope that my New year might start with a nice win! I was shocked to see EASTER EGGS on the counter. What are they thinking? 

There was a full fixture list in the football today and in the Premier League Arsenal were away to Birmingham and won 0-3, whilst Argyle could only muster a 0-0 draw at home to South West rivals Yeovil. A penalty save from the Argyle keeper kept Argyle in the game and although a few chances came for both sides, former Argyle favourite Paul Wotton had the best effort for Yeovil and Reda Johnson probably the best chance for Argyle. We hope that some time soon the fortunes of the club will improve. At least to see it through to the end of the season and give them a chance to re-group in the summer. 

Yes I mentioned the summer already, well if Tesco's can sell Easter Eggs today why can't I mention the summer? No doubt we shall start seeing all the holiday brochures being advertised on the TV this week! 

As part of my New Year's Resolutions I have given up chocolate! I am aware that a lot of people attempt to give up smoking around this time and as I have never had that vice and last year stopped drinking my only other thing worth giving up would be chocolate so here goes! Great timing to see EASTER EGGS in the store today! 

Wishing all those who read my previous blog when I was on hunger strike and all those who supported me through it and through the traumatic last few years a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. To those in cafcass and other places who have let children and families down not just in the past year but in previous years and are still letting them down I think it is safe to say for you it is squeaky bum time! 

The year for naming and shaming has come and I will not stop with Dawn Bishop of Cafcass Plymouth or the corrupt firm of Nash and Co who have bullied and coerced certain people in 2010! Anyone who is corrupt and failing the system they are supposed to represent is a potential target now. 

Friday December 31st

Happy New year everyone! I was amazed to see so many sky lanterns as I let mine off at midnight. I tried to take a few photos of them but the two seemed to just take off and as I looked up they were joined by 100's more! I suspect not for the same reasons mine were released.

Hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and did not fall asleep at 11:59 and miss it all. There sounds and sights of fireworks and the amazing array of sky lanterns were enough to keep anyone but the hardest of sleepers wide awake to welcome in the New Decade.
